Amazon FBA Revenue Calculator

Amazon FBA revenue forecasting needs monthly units sold, fulfillment fee per unit, referral percent, storage cost, ad spend that month, and your expected return rate. Many new FBA sellers forecast gross revenue only and forget referral fees scale with price, FBA fees apply per shipped unit even on returns, and storage adds each month inventory sits. This calculator turns selling price and velocity into gross monthly revenue, total Amazon fee buckets, loss from returns, net revenue after fees and returns, and estimated monthly profit.

    How it works

    Methodology & formulas

This calculator is transparent by design. Review the steps and formulas so you can trust the estimate and adjust assumptions when your dashboard differs.

    Calculation steps

    1. 1GrossRevenue = sellingPrice × monthlyUnitsSold.
    2. 2TotalReferral = gross × referralPercent.
    3. 3TotalFBA = fbaPerUnit × monthlyUnits.
    4. 4TotalAmazonFees = referral + fba + storageMonthly.
    5. 5ReturnLoss = gross × returnsRate.
    6. 6NetRevenueAfterFeesAndReturns = gross - totalAmazonFees - returnLoss.
    7. 7MonthlyProfit = netRevenue - advertisingSpend.
    8. 8EffectiveFeeRate = totalAmazonFees / gross ×100.

    Formulas

    • Gross = price × units
    • ReferralTotal = gross × referral%
    • FBATotal = fbaPerUnit × units
    • AmazonFees = referralTotal + FBA + storage
    • ReturnLoss = gross × returnsRate%
    • NetAfterFeesReturns = gross - AmazonFees - returnLoss
    • MonthlyProfit = netAfter - adSpend

    Important assumptions

    • Gross monthly revenue = sellingPrice × monthlyUnitsSold.
    • Total referral = gross × referralPercent.
    • Total FBA fulfillment = fbaPerUnit × monthlyUnitsSold, applies even if some later return because Amazon still charged fulfillment.
    • Total Amazon fees = referral + FBA fulfillment + monthly storage.
    • Return loss = gross × returnsRate percent — modeled as refunds on entire sale price, not including fee refunds.
    • Net revenue after Amazon fees and returns = gross − totalAmazonFees − returnLoss.
    • Monthly profit = netRevenueAfterReturns − advertisingSpend.
    • Fee refunds on returns not modeled because policy varies by category and time; this is conservative.

    Worked example

    150 units a month at $32.99

    $32.99 price, 150 units monthly, $5.20 FBA per unit, referral 15%, storage $75, ads $600, returns 4%.

    Gross $4948.50 (32.99×150). Referral $742.28 (15%), FBA $780 (5.20×150), storage $75 total Amazon $1597.28. Return loss $197.94 (4%). Net after fees and returns $3153.28 (4948.50-1597.28-197.94). Monthly profit after ads $2553.28 (3153.28-600). Effective fee rate 32.3%. True net after $8 product cost ×150 = $1353.28.
