How it works
Methodology & formulas
This calculator is transparent by design. Review the steps and formulas so you can trust the estimate and adjust assumptions when your dashboard differs.
Calculation steps
- 1Calculate gross revenue as unit price times units sold.
- 2Calculate refunds as gross revenue times refund rate percent.
- 3Net revenue = gross revenue − refunds.
- 4Channel fees = net revenue × channelFeePercent + channelFeeFixed.
- 5Recurring revenue = recurringRevenuePerCustomer × customerCount.
- 6Total revenue = net revenue − channelFees + recurringRevenue.
- 7Annualized = totalRevenue × period multiplier.
Formulas
- Gross = unitPrice × unitsSold
- Refunds = gross × refundRate%
- Net = gross − refunds
- Channel fees = net × channelFee% + channelFixed
- Recurring = recurringPerCustomer × customerCount
- Total = net − channelFees + recurring
- Annualized = total × multiplier (monthly 12, weekly 52, daily 365, quarterly 4, annually 1)
Important assumptions
- Gross revenue = unit price × units sold for the selected period.
- Refunds are calculated as gross revenue × refund rate.
- Net revenue after refunds is the base for channel percent fees.
- Recurring revenue is independent of units sold and added to total.
- Annualized revenue multiplies total revenue by 12 for monthly, 52 for weekly, 365 for daily, 4 for quarterly, 1 for annually.
- Average per unit is zero when units sold is zero.
