Poshmark Pricing Calculator
You know what you want to keep. Poshmark's fee makes the reverse math tricky because of the $15 cliff. Enter what the item cost you, what shipping you will absorb, desired profit per sale, and what you charge buyer for shipping. The calculator figures the minimum price that clears the fee cliff and meets your profit target, plus a psychological rounded suggestion.

How it works
Methodology & formulas
This calculator is transparent by design. Review the steps and formulas so you can trust the estimate and adjust assumptions when your dashboard differs.
Calculation steps
- 1Sum costs excluding Poshmark fee minus shipping charged as adjustedCost base.
- 2Calculate candidate price for under-$15 flat fee regime
- 3Calculate candidate price for 20% regime
- 4Pick candidate that satisfies its threshold and yields lower price that still meets profit, or fallback to higher if cliff makes lower impossible
- 5Calculate fee at minimum based on picked regime
- 6Round minimum to suggested .99
- 7Calculate profit and margin at suggested
Formulas
- AdjustedCosts = item + actualShip + pack + other − shippingCharged
- Price_flat = adjustedCosts + profit + $2.95 (valid if < $15)
- Price_20% = (adjustedCosts + profit) ÷ 0.8 (valid if ≥ $15)
- Suggested = ceil(minimum) − 0.01
- Profit_at_suggested = suggested + shippingCharged − fee(suggested) − (item + actualShip + pack + other)
Important assumptions
- Poshmark fee $2.95 if price < $15 else 20% of price — causes a cliff. Pricing logic checks both regimes.
- Adjusted costs = itemCost + actualShipping + packaging + otherCosts − shippingCharged — shipping charged offsets your costs.
- For price <15 regime: minimum = adjustedCosts + desiredProfit + $2.95
- For price >=15 regime: minimum = (adjustedCosts + desiredProfit) ÷ 0.8
- Valid minimum must satisfy its own regime (under 15 vs at least 15). When both satisfy, use lower price that still meets profit. When flat regime gives >=15, discard and use 20% regime.
- Suggested price rounds minimum up to nearest dollar minus $0.01 to give psychological .99 ending, minimum $0.
Worked example
Want $15 profit with $12 item cost
Item $12, actual shipping $0, packaging $1, other $0, shipping charged $7.67, profit goal $15.
