    How it works

    Methodology & formulas

This calculator is transparent by design. Review the steps and formulas so you can trust the estimate and adjust assumptions when your dashboard differs.

    Calculation steps

    1. 1Determine Poshmark fee: if sellingPrice < 15 then $2.95 else sellingPrice * 0.20
    2. 2Total revenue equals sellingPrice + shippingCharged
    3. 3Your shipping costs equal actualShippingCost + packagingCost
    4. 4Total out equals Poshmark fee plus your shipping costs
    5. 5Net earnings equals total revenue minus total out
    6. 6Effective fee rate equals Poshmark fee divided by sellingPrice times 100 when sellingPrice >0
    7. 7You keep percent equals netEarnings divided by totalRevenue times 100

    Formulas

    • Fee = $2.95 if price < $15 else price × 20%
    • Total Revenue = sellingPrice + shippingCharged
    • Your Shipping = actualShipping + packaging
    • Net = totalRevenue − fee − yourShipping
    • Effective % = fee ÷ sellingPrice ×100

    Important assumptions

    • Poshmark fee rule as of 2026: sales under $15 = $2.95 flat. Sales $15 and above = 20% of selling price. Fee calculated on item selling price only, not shipping buyer pays.
    • Shipping charged to buyer is revenue but Poshmark does not take additional commission on it under current model — it is a pass-through.
    • Actual shipping cost is what you pay when you discount shipping or offer free shipping. If buyer pays full $7.67, set actual cost to 0.
    • This calculator shows net before product cost so you can quickly compare listings. Use Profit calculator to include item cost.
    • PoshPays and cases, refunds, and promotions are not modeled.

    Worked example

    $38 dress with $7.67 shipping

Item sells for $38, buyer pays $7.67 shipping, you pay $0 extra shipping because buyer paid full, packaging $1.

Poshmark fee = $38 × 20% = $7.60. Revenue $45.67. Your costs $1 packaging. Net before item = $45.67 − $7.60 − $1 = $37.07. Effective fee 20% of item price, you keep 81.1% of buyer payment before product cost. If item cost was $12, net profit would be $25.07.
