If you only know views, we estimate impressions using average ads per view. Use this to compare niche rates, seasonality, and sponsorship pricing.

    How it works

    Methodology & formulas

This calculator is transparent by design. Review the steps and formulas so you can trust the estimate and adjust assumptions when your dashboard differs.

    Calculation steps

    1. 1Determine impressions: if totalViews > 0, use estimatedImpressions = totalViews × avgAdsPerView, otherwise use totalImpressions.
    2. 2CPM = totalAdRevenue / impressionsUsed × 1000 when impressions > 0.
    3. 3RPM = CPM × 0.55 to reflect creator share.
    4. 4Estimated creator revenue = totalAdRevenue × 0.55.
    5. 5Revenue per 1k views = totalViews > 0 ? (totalAdRevenue / totalViews) × 1000 : 0.
    6. 6Chart shows CPM vs creator share value.

    Formulas

    • Estimated impressions = totalViews × avgAdsPerView (when views provided)
    • CPM = totalAdRevenue ÷ impressions × 1000
    • RPM = CPM × 0.55
    • Creator revenue = totalAdRevenue × 0.55
    • Revenue per 1k views = totalAdRevenue ÷ totalViews × 1000

    Important assumptions

    • CPM is calculated as (ad revenue / impressions) × 1000.
    • If total views is provided, estimated impressions = totalViews × avgAdsPerView.
    • RPM estimated at 55% of CPM for standard YouTube Partner Program, actual varies by monetized percent.
    • Creator revenue estimated as 55% of gross ad revenue, before taxes.
    • Period field does not change math, it labels your scenario as monthly, weekly, or custom.
    • Revenue per 1,000 views is only meaningful when total views > 0.

    Worked example

Channel with $200 ad revenue and 50k impressions

$200 gross ad revenue, 50,000 impressions, period monthly. No views entered, avg 2 ads per view default.

Impressions used 50,000. CPM = 200 / 50,000 × 1000 = $4.00. RPM estimate = $2.20 (55%% of CPM). Creator revenue $110. If you had 25,000 views at 2 ads per view, revenue per 1k views would be $8.00, showing why monetization efficiency matters.
