    How it works

    Methodology & formulas

This calculator is transparent by design. Review the steps and formulas so you can trust the estimate and adjust assumptions when your dashboard differs.

    Calculation steps

    1. 1Gross sub: tier1×4.99 + tier2×9.99 + tier3×24.99
    2. 2If 70/30 split, netSub = gross×0.70, TwitchSubCut= gross×0.30 else 50/50 each
    3. 3Total bits = bitsPerStream × streamsPerMonth
    4. 4Total ads = adRevenuePerStream × streamsPerMonth
    5. 5Total gross = grossSub + totalBits + totalAds
    6. 6Total Twitch cut = TwitchSubCut (bits and ads already net, so not double counted)
    7. 7Net monthly = totalGross - totalTwitchCut
    8. 8Effective Twitch take = TwitchCut ÷ totalGross ×100

    Formulas

    • GrossSub = t1×4.99 + t2×9.99 + t3×24.99
    • If 70/30 netSub= gross×0.7 else gross×0.5
    • TotalBits = bitsPerStream × streamsPerMonth
    • TotalAds = adPerStream × streamsPerMonth
    • TotalGross = grossSub + bits + ads
    • Net = totalGross - twitchCut

    Important assumptions

    • Sub prices $4.99 Tier1, $9.99 Tier2, $24.99 Tier3 USD gross — your local may differ slightly due to regional pricing
    • 50/50 split = you keep 50% of sub gross, Twitch 50%. 70/30 toggle = you 70% Twitch 30%
    • Bits: streamer net $0.01 per bit — Twitch already took cut before Bits payout, so bits input assumed net you receive
    • Ad revenue per stream input assumed net to you after Twitch split (Twitch ad revenue share historically 55% creator, 45% Twitch, but entered as net to simplify)
    • Sub revenue monthly recurring assuming subs stay same month — does not model churn
    • Does not include donations/sponsorships/merch — use revenue calculator for full income

    Worked example

    Small partner with 86 subs

    80 Tier1, 5 Tier2, 1 Tier3, 70/30 off (50/50), bits $15 per stream, ads $12 per stream, 16 streams, 120 avg viewers

Gross sub $80×4.99=$399.20 + $49.95 + $24.99=$474.14 gross. 50/50 split Twitch cut $237.07, net sub $237.07. Bits $240 monthly, ads $192, total gross $474.14+240+192=$906.14, total net $906.14-237.07=$669.07, effective Twitch 26.16% across all revenue. At 70/30: net sub $331.90, Twitch cut $142.24, total net $763.90, effective 15.70%.
