Etsy Listing Fee Calculator

Every listing costs $0.20 to publish and again each time it renews. That adds up when you carry 50 or 200 active listings. This calculator shows your monthly and annual listing overhead, including auto-renewals when items sell, so you can audit your catalog and decide what to keep.

    How it works

    Methodology & formulas

This calculator is transparent by design. Review the steps and formulas so you can trust the estimate and adjust assumptions when your dashboard differs.

    Calculation steps

    1. 1Determine divisor: monthly = 1, standard 4-month = 4.
    2. 2Renewal fee monthly = activeListings × listingFeePerItem ÷ divisor.
    3. 3Auto-renew fee monthly = averageMonthlySales × listingFeePerItem when auto-renew enabled.
    4. 4Apply Etsy Plus discount if enabled: totalMonthly × 0.85.
    5. 5Total monthly listing cost = renewal monthly + auto-renew monthly.
    6. 6Annual cost = total monthly × 12.
    7. 7Percent of revenue = total monthly ÷ estimated monthly revenue × 100 when revenue entered.

    Formulas

    • RenewalMonthly = activeListings × listingFee ÷ (1 monthly, 4 standard)
    • AutoRenewMonthly = monthlySales × listingFee (if enabled)
    • TotalMonthly = (RenewalMonthly + AutoRenewMonthly) × (0.85 if Plus else 1)
    • Annual = TotalMonthly × 12
    • %Revenue = TotalMonthly ÷ estimatedRevenue × 100

    Important assumptions

    • Standard Etsy listing cycle is 4 months; monthly option amortizes faster renewals.
    • Each sale that auto-renews incurs one listing fee unless disabled.
    • Etsy Plus modeled as 15% reduction in listing fee for illustration — actual Plus benefits vary by promo and credits.
    • This calculates listing fees only, not transaction, processing, or offsite ads fees.
    • Multi-quantity listings renew per sale occurrence in many setups — one fee per unit sold is typical.
    • Confirm current listing fee and renewal behavior in your Etsy seller dashboard.

    Worked example

50 listing shop selling 20 orders a month

50 active listings at $0.20, 4-month renewal cycle, 20 sales per month with auto-renew on, no Plus, $2000 revenue.

    Catalog renewals cost 50 × $0.20 ÷ 4 = $2.50 per month. Auto-renew from sales costs 20 × $0.20 = $4.00. Total $6.50 monthly, $78 annually, about 0.33% of $2000 revenue — modest, but doubles if you renew monthly.
